u What are the legal requirements of homeschooling?
Washington Homeschool Organization is a state-wide homeschool support
organization that is a great source of information.  While you are there, look
at what else the site offers.
Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction is an official site with much
information, including FAQ and the current definition of what the public
schools are teaching at each grade level (EALRs).

u How do I get started?
There is no one answer, no perfect recipe for every family.  Here are some
suggestions that you may find useful:
Family Education provides a basic introduction.
National Homeschool Education Network will be helpful.
Patrick Farenga offers some good advice.
Homeschool Marketplace contains worthwhile articles.
Unschooling is another option worth considering.
Growing Without Schooling has some good ideas.
World Book Typical Course of Study reflects general curriculum requirements
across North America for each grade.
